Every TaoYuan tree passes through twelve controlled steps inside our own factory — raw material, washing, steaming & sterilising, high-temperature kiln drying, shaping, sanding, anti-mould treatment, hand-leafing, forming, photo approval, export packing and our own showroom. We're a manufacturer, not a trader — so we control the tree from raw timber all the way to the shipping container. Here is exactly how it's built, step by step, on video.
Every tree begins with the wood. We hand-pick seasoned trunks, roots and branch stock in our own yard — choosing grain, thickness and character so the finished tree carries the weight and irregularity of a real one.
The raw wood is washed and soaked in treatment tanks to strip dirt, sap and loose bark, and to open the timber up for the drying and preservation steps that follow.
The cleaned timber goes into our wood-fired steam pit. High-temperature steam conditions the wood so trunks and roots won't split or warp, and kills off insects, eggs and fungal spores — the treatment that lets a real-wood tree pass export inspection and stay clean for years.
Straight from the steam pit, the wood goes into our wood-fired drying kiln. Days of controlled high heat drive the moisture down to a stable, low level — this is what keeps a real-wood tree light, crack-free and dimensionally stable for years, indoors or out.
Skilled hands shape the dried trunks and roots into the final silhouette — bending, splicing and sculpting the raw wood into the gnarled, characterful form a natural tree would have taken decades to grow.
The shaped wood is sanded and refined by hand — smoothing joins, cleaning up the bark texture and preparing every surface so the coatings and bark detail that follow sit perfectly.
The finished wood surface is treated and coated to lock out moisture and mould and to protect the timber for the long term — the step that keeps a real-wood tree looking new in humid lobbies, malls and outdoor settings.
Thousands of leaves, needles and blossoms — many from our own leaf moulds — are wound onto the branches one bundle at a time. Hand-leafing is slow, but it's what wins the 95% 1:1 realism mass-moulded trees never reach.
Trunk, branches and foliage come together into the complete tree. It's stood up and formed on the floor — balancing the canopy, setting branch angles and dialling in the overall shape until it reads as a living tree.
Before anything is packed, the finished tree is photographed and sent to you for approval. You see the exact tree you're getting — colour, density and form — and nothing ships until you've signed it off.
Large trees are broken down into modular, labelled sections, crated to protect the leaves and finish in transit, and loaded for export. We ship factory-direct worldwide, with re-assembly guidance so your team can raise the tree on site in hours.
Before anything ships, the finished trees stand together in our own showroom — flowering trees, layered pines, olive trees and greenery, all lit and styled the way they'll look in a real space. It's the final proof of what leaves our factory: not a catalogue render, but the actual tree, ready for your lobby, hotel, mall or garden.
